Well we are now down to just myself and Billy going to Belize, Beachy is getting posted to Iraq.
collecting the gear together is coming along well, i got a new travel rod case the other day, it fit an uptider 2 fly rods, a 10wt and 8wt for bones permit and tarpon, single handed casting rod for messing about off the dock, a spinning rod for use with 20lb braid for when the fly rods wont work and a heavy 60 to 100lb rod for fishing for grouper with 120lb braid.
plenty of plugs from surface poppers, shallow minnows and very big deep divers to go down to 25ft or more. heavey mono leaders wire to make biting traces and circle hooks from 1/0 up to 10/0 in size.

deposit is payed
thats it the deposit is payed so we are getting closer, we may be down to myself and Billy, we will find out on 13th !
I collected some tuna lures while i was in spain last week and plenty of plugs, just ordered 2 new fly rods and reels, 1 for tarpon and one for the bonefish, just really need to sort out flies and wire traces along with other little bits and pieces now, might even get a single handed bait casting rod for messing about with.
I will add more updates as and when there is some more information.

getting organised
I decided on a trip away fishing a few weeks ago and decidedon Belize after doing a lot of homework on the net, the trip is organised for March 30th to April 17th 2009.
I decided on steppingstones insouthern Belize, in the beginning it was just myself and Billy who were going then this last week Beachy decided he would come as well, the flights are booked now so we leave manchester on 16th March and arrive in Belize on 31st, where we get picked up in a small plane to be taken to Placencia, we then get picked up by boat for the final leg down to Steppingstones. We leave Belize on 16th April and arrive back home on the 17th
At the moment we are collecting information on the fishing and sorting out the right gear to take, I will update as soon as i have any more information. We are hopeing to catch Tarpon, Permit and bonefish mainly, we will have a day or 2 fishing for grouper and sharks as well as all the other reef fish out there.
While we are away we will update the blog dailly while we sit on the dock with a beer or 2 in the evenings.
